Welcome to the Math Department!
Welcome to middle school mathematics. Each grade has a variety of courses designed to meet the needs of all students. These courses follow a sequence established by the secondary mathematics department. Students receive class instruction that prepares them for the next course and develops the 8 standards of mathematics. These standards are aligned with MCAP, Maryland’s state assessment. Teachers use a variety of methods to push students to think and problem solve independently and with peers. BAMS mathematics department is highly qualified with an experienced staff that is willing to help students grow in their understanding of mathematics. If you have any questions about curriculum or course sequence please contact your child’s teacher they will be happy to answer your questions.
